Top Shot: Icebound Window

Top Shot features the photo with the most votes from the previous day’s Daily Dozen, 12 photos chosen by the Your Shot editors from thousands of recent uploads. Our community votes for their favorite photo from the selection, and the Top Shot is showcased on the @natgeoyourshot Instagram account.

“This is a shot from my 3-week trip to the remote region of southeast of Tibet in March,” writes Your Shot photographer Weihao Pan. “This is not an ice cave. It’s just a massive blue iceberg being dropped off from a glacier during the summer and then being frozen in the winter. Most of these icicles are from two to six feet high. I was lucky to capture some beautiful light hitting on the peaks in the background after a storm clearing. The three peaks are called Mt. Risonggepu, which is named by the local Tibetan.” Photograph by Weihao Pan
